Announcing a new ministry program: Career Insights for Teens:
CIFT is a faith-based career counseling program started by West Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church. Teens in high school who are considering what they should do next will find valuable assistance from professional counselors through this program. Here's why the program is well named:
CIFT, the first letters of the words Career Insights For Teens, is pronounced sift, which means 'to screen and separate out the good and valuable.' That is what prospectors do when panning or sifting for gold -- and that is exactly what we in CIFT help high school students do. Through a comprehensive process of profiling and testing combined with group and individualized counseling, we help teenagers screen out and identify their God-given interests and passions, abilities, personality traits and personal values. Or to put it another way, we help them confirm and, in many cases, discover for the very first time some amazing and wonderful things about themselves!
The CIFT counselors and administrative staff invite you to visit CIFT's new website to learn more.
Presbytery has entered a mission partnership with the Presbytery of Kananga in the western Kasi region of the Congo. At the May 22 presbytery meeting the Executive Presbyter of Kananga Presbytery, the Rev. Lazare Tshibuabua Dikebele (pictured below), brought greetings from his presbytery, and prayed God's blessing upon this partnership. We look forward to our varioius opportunities for conversation with him; and we too will pray for this mutually beneficial relationship in mission.
